This Mindfulness Matters course builds on the solid foundation provided by level 1. It prioritises the importance of wellbeing for both teachers and pupils and the benefit of creating a school environment that supports the development of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It weaves simple effective practices in a cross-curricular fashion, connecting with SESE, Art, Literacy, Irish, SPHE and PE. It provides personal, classroom and whole school approaches to enhance teachers’ confidence in developing both their own wellbeing and that of their pupils. Using simple mindfulness techniques it focuses on themes of Awareness, Attention, Resilience, Healthy Communication and Teacher Self-care.

It’s unique cross-curricular design and a section on the ‘WSE with Ease’, makes it a must for teachers and principals this summer.

NB: Basic ICT skills are a prerequisite for this on-line course. Participants should have experience of carrying out basic ICT tasks (opening, editing, saving, closing files) and be proficient in using an Internet browser. Participants will move between Internet browser windows, following tasks in one window to create projects in another. Prior experience of participating in an online course, contributing to an online discussion forum and uploading or downloading files will be an advantage.
